Speaking of Ishigami Jingu, Chickens
The votive wooden tablets dedicated to Ishigami Jingu are designed with chickens.
Because it is believed that chickens are familiars of God.
As a result, many chickens here in Isonokami-Jingu are kept free-range as sacred birds.
These were unusual chickens with black wings and a purple face.
The roosters had masculine faces.
